Disconnecting phone

If you wish to remove a phone after data extraction and whilst the analysis is running, please wait until you see the text "Phone can be disconnected now" in the log panel on the left-hand side of the application window. It will not appear as a popup.

You can then safely disconnect the phone from the PC and the analysis will continue until completion.

The Forensic Connector application is used for communication between the PC and the Android phone

If extracting from an Android phone, please make sure that you uninstall the Forensic Connector application from the phone when the extraction is complete and before the phone leaves your possession.

To uninstall the Forensic Connector manually from the device, please follow the steps below:

  1. Go to Settings / Applications

  2. Select Forensic Connector from the list

  3. Tap on Uninstall and confirm

To uninstall the Forensic Connector from the device within MOBILedit Forensic, please follow the steps below:

  1. Allow the extraction and analysis to complete whilst leaving the device connected

  2. Return to the Connection page

  3. Click finish and do not remove the device

  4. Select Remove Connector as shown below

If the phone is disconnected during the extraction process, you will get a 'Warning' message that the phone has been disconnected. You can either reconnect the phone to continue with the extraction or, skip the extraction and continue with exports. Please note that if you do not complete the entire data extraction process the result will be incomplete data in the export reports.
