The difference between MOBILedit Forensic PRO and ULTRA
MOBILedit Forensic ULTRA is the elite and most powerful version of MOBILedit Forensic software. The ULTRA edition is equipped with all the features of MOBILedit Forensic PRO and is furthermore enriched with the most innovative security bypassing features categorized in the Dual-use product category.
This means that security bypassing features such as brute-forcing passwords, Samsung engineering root, and Kirin decrypt were moved from version PRO to version ULTRA.
By limiting access to these features and including them only in more advanced versions, we can help ensure these features are only used for intended purposes and not for malicious activities.
To maintain the highest standards of professionalism and compliance with legal requirements, the ULTRA edition is available in a special mode based on official professional and territorial authorization. At present, due to regulatory restrictions, the delivery of MOBILedit ULTRA is limited to EU member countries. If exported from the EU, it is subject to regulation, in compliance with Export Control of Dual-Use Goods Regulation 2021/821, as amended by Regulation 2023/66.
However, our team is actively working towards obtaining official permission to expand delivery to other countries, and we will keep you informed of any developments in this regard.
What does “Dual-use Software” mean exactly?
The term "dual use" typically refers to technologies or products that have both civilian and military or law enforcement applications. In the context of mobile forensics software, "dual-use" may indicate that the software can be used for legitimate forensic investigations as well as potentially malicious activities, such as hacking or data theft. Therefore, it may be subject to additional scrutiny and regulation to prevent misuse. It's important to note that being classified as "dual-use" does not necessarily mean that a software product is inherently dangerous or unethical. Rather, it may simply require more careful monitoring and oversight to ensure that it is being used for legitimate purposes.
