The MOBILedit Forensic Dongle Key is a hardware license key that can be used only with a special version of MOBILedit Forensic. If you have requested the dongle version, it will appear in the User portal for you to download, along with update packages for installation if you are working in a network isolated environment.

To activate MOBILedit Forensic using the Dongle Key license, follow these steps:

Download and install the dongle version of MOBILedit Forensic from the MOBILedit User Portal.

Install it on an internet connected computer to activate the license.

Insert the MOBILedit Forensic Dongle Key into a USB port of the computer. No installation of device drivers is required.

Run the installed dongle version of MOBILedit Forensic. The software will check the inserted MOBILedit Forensic Dongle Key and enable the full functionality of the product according to the purchased license.

When you remove the MOBILedit Forensic Dongle Key, the software will no longer function.

In order to check the status of the license, select the “Activation” button.
To use MOBILedit Forensic Dongle license, you need to have the MOBILedit Forensic Dongle Key inserted in the USB port of your computer.
When you remove the MOBILedit Forensic Dongle Key, the software will no longer function.
If a new software version of MOBILedit is released and installed on air-gapped computers, the new installation will not work with the dongle until the license has been refreshed. Please follow the above steps to refressh the dongle license key.
